Bob graduated from Bedford High School, class of 1964 and went on to attend the University of Toledo majoring in electrical engineering and earning his B.S.E.E. In 1966 he was drafted into the Army. During his time in the Army, he was stationed in Redstone, Alabama. While there he oversaw the maintenance of the Pershing Missile.
1999-2023 He spent almost 25 years at JDRM Engineering. He was a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Ohio and Michigan. When it came to his work he would always say, “I love what I do!”
Mr. Kalb was a sought-after electrical engineer with experience in several specialty areas including on-site electrical systems, substations, generation, and medium voltage motor control. He had 50 years’ experience encompassing all areas of electrical engineering related to the construction industry. He designed medium voltage distribution and emergency power systems for universities, healthcare campuses, and municipal water and wastewater treatment plants.
A few of Bob’s notable projects at JDRM Engineering were Flower Hospital, St. Anne’s Hospital, St. Charles Hospital, City of Toledo wastewater and water treatment plants, First Solar, and the University of Toledo.
“From the day I hired Bob all the way until 2023, he provided JDRM with quality engineering. His work ethic and notice to detail through his systems designs should be recognized as state of the art,” Larry Juette, P.E., one of JDRM’s founding partners.
“He will be missed but his presence will never leave!” Roger DeBelly, P.E., RCDD, JDRM Engineering President.
